Dr David Kumagaya is a consultant psychiatrist and psychogeriatrician with experience working across both public and private psychiatric sectors in Australia. He provides outpatient assessment and treatment of depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, bipolar disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, personality disorders, and cognitive disorders in the elderly.
After completing his undergraduate medical training, Dr Kumagaya obtained a Graduate Certificate in Applied Mental Health Studies specialising in Older Persons Mental Health, in addition to a Master of Psychiatric Medicine. He attended psychiatry training at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, and completed his Advanced Training in Psychiatry of Old Age at the Concord Centre for Mental Health. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP), and an accredited member of the RANZCP Faculty of Old Age Psychiatry.
PUBLICATIONS, AWARDS AND ACCOLADES
Dr Kumagaya holds a particular interest in psychiatric research. He has published and presented on the topic of electroconvulsive therapy in the elderly, including having authored the largest primary research study, to date, exploring its use in the elderly living with psychosis.
Over the course of his career, Dr Kumagaya’s contributions to psychiatry and research have been recognised through multiple awards, including the Mental Health Education and Research Fund Award, the Health Education and Training Institute Older People’s Mental Health Scholarship, in addition to the RANZCP Faculty of Psychiatry of Old Age Scholarly Project Prize.
Dr Nirenjen St George

QUALIFICATIONS

Dr Nirenjen St George graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine from the University of Sydney in 2012 after completing a Bachelor of Engineering (UNSW). He trained in psychiatry at Concord Hospital and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, and completed psychiatry specialist training through the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Psychiatry (RANZCP) in 2018. He also graduated with a Master of Psychiatry. He has also completed the advanced certificate of Old Age through the RANZCP with over four years of specialist experience in old age specific psychiatric care with expertise in outpatient and in-home psychiatric treatment.
EXPERIENCE
Dr Nirenjen St George has previously worked as a consultant psychiatrist in the public sector as a staff specialist psychiatrist for Concord Centre of Mental Health. Dr St George has experience as the Site Coordinator of Training organising teaching and support for junior psychiatric doctors. He is an accredited supervisor for RANZCP trainees.
SPECIALTY
Dr St George has a special interest in medical emergencies associated with psychiatric medication in the elderly. Dr St George also has a special interest holistic psychiatric care for the elderly, blending functional care coordination, pharmacotherapy and psychotherapy.
