EXPERIENCE

Dr David Kumagaya is a consultant psychiatrist and psychogeriatrician with experience working across both public and private psychiatric sectors in Australia. He provides outpatient assessment and treatment of depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, bipolar disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, personality disorders, and cognitive disorders in the elderly.

After completing his undergraduate medical training, Dr David Kumagaya obtained a Graduate Certificate in Applied Mental Health Studies specialising in Older Persons Mental Health, in addition to a Master of Psychiatric Medicine. He attended psychiatry training at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, and completed his Advanced Training in Psychiatry of Old Age at the Concord Centre for Mental Health. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP), and an accredited member of the RANZCP Faculty of Old Age Psychiatry.

PUBLICATIONS, AWARDS AND ACCOLADES

Dr David Kumagaya holds a keen interest in psychiatric research and has published on the topic of electroconvulsive therapy in the elderly.

Dr David Kumagaya was awarded the Mental Health Education and Research Fund Award in 2017, the Health Education and Training Institute Older People’s Mental Health Scholarship in 2019, in addition to the Faculty of Psychiatry of Old Age Psychiatric Trainee Prize for Scholarly Project in 2020.

Dr Nirenjen St George

QUALIFICATIONS

Dr Nirenjen St George graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine from the University of Sydney in 2012 after completing a Bachelor of Engineering (UNSW). He trained in psychiatry at Concord Hospital and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, and completed psychiatry specialist training through the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Psychiatry (RANZCP) in 2018. He also graduated with a Master of Psychiatry. He has also completed the advanced certificate of Old Age through the RANZCP with over three years of specialist experience in dementia and old age specific psychiatric care with experience with in-home care, nursing home visits, general hospital and inpatient facilities. 

EXPERIENCE

Dr Nirenjen St George has previously worked as a consultant psychiatrist in the public sector as a staff specialist psychiatrist for Concord Centre of Mental Health. He has also worked extensively as a VMO Psychiatrist at Northside Wentworthville and has expertise in civil medico-legal psychiatry. Dr St George has experience as the Site Coordinator of Training organising teaching and support for psychiatric registrars . He is an accredited supervisor for RANZCP trainees and an active member of the electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) committee for Concord Centre of Mental Health. 

SPECIALTY

Dr St George has a special interest in medical emergencies associated with psychiatric medication in the elderly. He also has a special interest in advocacy and reducing chemical restraint for dementia care in nursing homes. Dr St George holds admitting rights to Northside Wentworthville and is an active member of the ECT service.
